Duncan and Claire welcome you to The Dog House. As new custodians of the micro pub we hope to continue in the footsteps of Karen and Jim and stay true to the venues friendly and warm atmosphere while adding a bit of our own personalities along the way.
Housed in what was originally the barn for convalescing dogs from the vets The Dog House is a warm and inviting micro pub offering local ales, homemade food and live music. We also have an extensive vinyl collection for you to peruse and play or bring your own along and listen while you relax with a drink.
With ample parking, retail outlets and a nature trail we’re the perfect place to stop and refresh, welcoming families and dogs.
Situated just 10 minutes out of Ashford, 15 minutes from Hythe, 20 minutes from Folkestone and under 30 minutes from Canterbury we may not be on your doorstep but we think you’ll find the journey worth while.

The dog house is a wonderful location. We were there last night for our friends 50th birthday. The pub has recently extended, which is great as it was, at times, difficult to get a table there. I recommend anyone in the Ashford area to visit the Doghouse, you won't be disappointed.
A Hidden Gem Worth Every Praise! I'll start by saying that I believe in honest reviews. Friends, Duncan and Claire, along with their lovely family, own this place. Plus, my son works here. That being said, I would never write a review I didn't wholeheartedly mean. The Dog House, in my opinion, is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good honest pub grub, and the beer selection is outstanding. It's a refreshing change to visit a place where you can simply enjoy yourself without any reservations. Duncan and Claire, the owners, are "real" people who genuinely care about what they do. Their passion and patience shine through in every aspect of this establishment. Well done to you all for creating such an amazing place!
I had lunch here with my two children. Food and drink were very nice. Service was really good despite it being busy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back as we want to try out the Pizzas! There is a good choice of local beers to choose from. Great atmosphere and feel about he place. It's a happy place to eat. Would highly recommend.
I stopped here for a Sunday afternoon dinner with 5 adults and two kids, on route home from a weekend away. Lovely atmosphere with live music. Friendly and accommodating staff. Food was lovely and well priced. Blessed with the weather we were able to sit in the nice courtyard outside. Plenty of parking. Thanks.
Lovely little micropub with friendly staff and patrons (human and doggo!). Beers were well kept, with a good selection of drinks and snacks available. Delighted to find toiletries and sanitary products for all available in the loo. We will be back!!!
