This is a wonderful original type of boozer with loads of character. This no frill pub is warm, friendly, and has a great bar with standard room to watch the sport. This was the first time in, but I will be in again next time I am back.

All the staff were absolutely amazing. The land lord was very friendly and went to great lengths to accommodate our party including speacial arrangements for a gluten free diet. The rooms, although not the biggest were clean, warm and well provisioned. I would definitely stay here again for a short break

Walked in at lunch time on a Tues.and was overwhelmed by the smell of fish.We were shown to a tiny table straight away, even though we hadn't booked ??? Traditional English pub, but very popular, as it was very busy, with a lot of tables RESERVED. Ordered the OAP Special menu, which arrived on smaller than normal plates, no doubt to make the portions look bigger. The veg was bland and a bit tasteless, but the chicken/ ham pie was very tasty, but had overly soft pastry. Overall the prices were reasonable, and the service good. Don't think we will be back.😃

Have stayed here a couple of times, small private secure car park for people staying in the accommodation, spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds, the rooms are in a building behind the pub which means a quiet nights sleep, really affordable and include breakfast! Is a Proper old school pub with lovely staff who are more than happy to help :) & the pub is basically in the middle of the town so can walk to the shops which is a bonus! Will be back again.
