About us

Located on the Chatsworth Estate in one of the most charming villages in the Peak District, The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley is a traditional English inn specialising in great food, excellent ales and comfy rooms.
The food on offer in the dining is a very sophisticated take pub fare. Our Head Chef sources local ingredients, most of which come from the Chatsworth Estate itself. The drinks on offer in the pub include great local ales on tap, including Chatsworth Gold. Breakfast is also a treat with amazing produce from the local farms.
You will want to take the time to explore the village of Pilsley, including the famous Chatsworth Farm Shop. Chatsworth House itself is also a must – just short drive away or a very lovely walk through Edensor along a country road and down a green lane. The Devonshire Arms is also perfectly positioned for discovering the hills and dales the Peak District National Park, as well as the plague village of Eyam, the local caves and caverns, as well as Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall.

Fantastic place. Staff are excellent and really attentive with allergies too. We got looked after mainly by Tom who was friendly, helpful and professional. We will definitely return. Highly recommend the partridge starter and Venison main!

We had an excellent Christmas Day lunch us 4 and Kip the dog. Great welcome when we arrived not too busy at 1pm so all very leisurely. The food was excellent and the timing to bring it out perfect. Just could have cooked the sprouts a couple more minutes but that's my preference. Hope we can do it all again next year. Thankyou

A delightful Sunday lunch in cosy surroundings - after a trip to Bakewell it was the perfect place to stop. Decent selection of lagers and local ales, very good menu choice and service was on point. Staff are great, Max was chatty and friendly and the lady that served us at the table was very pleasant! Will definitely visit again.

We ate on a sunday evening and the food was amazing, so inventive and unusual (especially as we are vegetarian, and find those options bland). AND, the staff were so warm and enthusiastic, even the young person, as often young people don't really want to be there, and show it, but this young man was really enthusiastic and attentive. It was excellent, and will go back again
