What a great find! Went here for an evening meal while on holiday nearby. The food was amazing - generous portions of fine restaurant quality food. Between us, we tried mussels cooked in clotted cream, cider and leeks; belly of pork with mash and greens; fillet of hake with cockle beurre blanc; and lemon posset with cherries. All were excellent. There is a good selection of beers and ciders on tap, and a well-considered wine list. The hosts were very welcoming and attentive, and clearly take great pride in their business. Would definitely recommend a visit.
It was the best Sunday roast I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Lovely inn, with lovely waiting staff. The only down point was that the desserts were not to the same standard. But I will be coming back. Very reasonable prices which is a bonus.
Nice food, the portions are a good size. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Good selection of beers on tap and many many Gins to choose from. A short walk from my house means it's easy to go out for dinner and drinks with people who visit.
First visit and massively impressed with the food and the staff. Way beyond expectations so will definitely be visiting again. Great to find a proper pub that does excellent food and really well priced. We had scallops, Venison Liver and Hake dishes and everything was delicious. Handy too to have extra car park just down the road so literally a mins walk.
Very friendly, cosy pub with amazing homemade food! Owners so welcoming & having time for all customers. We booked as we have a dog and wanted a table tucked away to allow her to relax and not be in the way of other customers. Great cider choices and ended evening with very nice coffee. We will definitely be back very soon.
