I will start by saying I think this pub is great. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Have visited a lot over the years. I just have to say that the food seems to have taken a bit of a dive recently. I get all the comments about it is not a restaurant but is a pub serving food… However, the food is sold at restaurant prices! I have posted picture of scampi & chips which is on the menu at £15. The chips were served cold and undercooked. Peas also cold. It’s just not a £15 plate of food! A couple years ago the food was amazing with home cooked daily specials.

A week ago, three of us went to the Plymstock for dinner. My two companions were happy with their meals. I chose the roasted cauliflower and chick pea curry, this was listed as being accompanied by a flat bread. When my meal arrived there was no flat bread but two poppadoms. These were dripping with oil and tasted of the fried fish which another of my party had. The cauliflower had never been near an oven and was of the frozen variety, limp and insipid. The sauce was thin and had little taste of coconut or any spice. Not wishing to cause any embarrassment for my companions, or the staff, we paid our bill and left. I then sent an email, using the 'contact us' feature on the pub website. This detailed my experience, as above, giving the landlord the opportunity to review my comments and reply without having an adverse review. Now 7 days later I've not had any acknowledgement, much less a reply, leaving me little alternative but to post this review. I was disappointed with my meal but more so with the lack of courtesy of a reply. Edit. Here we are 6 weeks on and still no reply. Sadly , this speaks volumes.

Superb food, friendly service and very modern interior. Busy at weekends, would highly recommend - not expensive either 👍👍👍

Visited this place for the first time and was very impressed. It is tucked away in the centre of Plymstock near the church on Church Road. It has a big parking area behind the Inn. Inside is nicely decorated, including all old fittings that make it so charming. We went for a meal and it was exceptionally good. Food was freshly cooked, and portions were generous. We will definitely visit this establishment again. This time with our friends and family. If you are a dog lover, they can come in. We highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great place for food and the staff are very friendly. I had the massive Plym burger which contained grilled chicken, bacon, cheese and a beefburgers. Came with fries and coleslaw, what a feast. Partner had a great steak which came with chips and a side of Mediterranean vegetables which was a nice twist. I will definitely be going back.
