We were staying locally at a glamping site when my daughters declared they really fancied some cheesey chips. The foxhound inn was the closest pub to where we were staying. I phoned ahead to check dress code as we had packed for a weekend of mud, not going out for food! Telephone was promptly picked up by a lovely girl (sorry I didn’t get your name) who explained we were very welcome. It was a very “local” pub but everyone was so warm and inviting. Can’t really comment on the food as we only had cheesey chips (which were demolished) but a couple at the table next to us were saying they’d just had a lovely meal. If you’re looking for somewhere warm and inviting, without a load of fuss, I’d definitely recommend! Reasonably priced, lovely and engaging staff who were very attentive. Would definitely come back for a “proper meal” if we’re ever in the area again. Thank you!

I almost don’t want to review this place highly in case too many people find it and we can’t get in. Though obviously I will as the food, atmosphere, welcome, service and value here is second to none. What a great place for a locally sourced, well cooked meal!

I didn't actually eat here because of my own mistake, however I'd like to say that all the contact that I had with the staff was superb! I'd wanted to treat my parents to a meal and had not double checked exactly where it was so got confused with another Foxhound Inn. As I was I out of the country I'd put some money behind the bar over the phone and spoke to a wonderful member of the bar staff who figured a way out that it could work. Sadly a few days later I realised my mistake (parents at a different Foxhound), however when I called to see if it was possible to refund my money because of my mistake the land lady was happy to oblige. I hope that someday we'll be able to actually visit as it looks like a wonderful place and the staff I spoke to were all really lovely and understanding.

We liked the food here..they've kept the choices simple and just do a great job on what they can offer. Burger with chilli meat sauce and chips was good..fish and chips was massive! Pleasant atmosphere where locals are regulars. Local artists' paintings on the walls. Only criticism..service rather slow...but there are the usual staffing problems. Staff were all helpful and pleasant.

Good food, lovely atmosphere. It's not cheap to eat out these days obviously but everything we've eaten here has been really nice and well cooked. The pizzas were very tasty.
