What a find! Stayed here for 2 nights and cannot recommend highly enough. The room was comfortable and clean, with lovely furnishings. We were made to feel really welcome, and the food was amazing both nights. Can echo all the positive reviews about the pies. Perfect base for hiking, my only regret is not having enough room to try one of the puddings! Next time!
A great pub in a grand location. Came here for lunch a few minutes after they opened at 12pm on a Thursday. We were surprised to find other customers already here and loads of tables reserved. Really friendly bar staff. The food was lovely and the portions filled us up. Will definitely be coming back here
Great pub for food and a beer. Dog and child friendly, with a great selection of food for all ages (this includes smaller larger plates on the main menu). We had a gluten free and dairy free diner and all were catered for easily and the food was no less delicious. Pies looked amazing, but can recommend the Calver fried chicken and the Schwarma
Nice little pub with great atmosphere. The food looked so nice when it came but unfortunately, chicken was so dry and hard to chew in the burger. Risotto was nice though.
This pub is in a good location with a nice setting right in the gateway of the peak district. The Sunday roast and the dessert here was spot on, and the service is good and friendly. From the dining area, there is a pleasant view overlooking the surrounding scenery despite the carpark. Parking here isn't an issue, as the carpark is opposite and has plenty of space. There is also a play area and outdoor seating leading up the stairway to the entrance, with additional benches in the carpark.
