Lovely pub to go for a drink or a meal. Fantastic roaring fire which certainly is a must at this time of year. Food is excellent, very tasty and would recommend you give this place a try. It reopened in the summer and doesn't appear to be on everyone's radar just yet.
I visited The Derry today around 14:00. Not many people in. Not very cosy either don't think the heating was on. The staff where good and the food excellent. Being Friday the fish and chips and also the scampi where on as a special so at a very reduced price. Excellent.
We had a lovely meal and the food was delicious, however our table was booked at 6:30 and there was only 4 or 5 other tables when we arrived at the restaurant. We then waiting 45 minutes for our starters to come out, then a further hour for our mains and another half hour for our desserts. I understand they cook to order, much as they do at the Hamilton Russell, however the experience and speed of service at the Hamilton Russell is always far better than it was here last night. It was also disappointing that three of the items we had initially wanted to order were unavailable, especially as the menu was smaller due to it being restaurant week. I would definitely be back though I would worry about how much slower the service would be if they were any more full.
Great selections of food. Didn't wait long for our orders. Tasty food & reasonable price. I love the vibe. The pub is clean and organized.
Such a great place to visit for a meal both for lunch or dinner. Since Covid restrictions have been in place everything is ordered and paid for on their online app. It takes a few minutes to set it up and save a card number to your account. Once set up it is user friendly however the staff are very helpful and assured us that we could ask for assistance at any time. The food and drinks were served quickly and it all tasted great. Very popular pub so would recommend booking a table in advance. We will be back again.
