Lovely, friendly pub. We were made to feel very welcome and shown how to play dominoes :)
Only giving 3 stars as the pub was shut when we visited. Note in the window suggests they only open at 8:30pm each night which seems to be reflected in the information on here. Just wanted to share for others to see.
Super little village pub. An absolute gem. Pubs like this are a rare find and in my opinion of great importance. The glue that binds a community together. Popped in whilst on holiday and made to feel super welcome. Extremely well kept ales. Well worth a detour to visit!
To us Canadians, this place seemed like just another ordinary pub, but our British friends were quick to tell us that this place is an absolute treat. A blast from the past. It was quite a neat experience for the whole group. Drinking pump ale, playing pool, and eating all the bacon fries we could get our hands on. The owner was fantastic, we had a great chat with him and he was very accommodating. Hopefully if I am back in this neck of the woods, I'll find my way back here. Cheers!
This isn't a faux retro pub experience. This is a genuinely charming old fashioned pub. The selection of drinks isn't amazing - that's not the point - the pub is the point. Perfectly preserved immaculate 1940's interiors, and a bar lady who may have had them originally installed... Pop in, get a drink and savour a living touch of the past.
