We (OH & I) enjoyed an overnight break in Great Longstone, and we were only short stroll from The Crispin. Food was so good we went twice. Lovely pub, friendly staff, great food. Whether you just want a drink or a meal, you'll be made welcome. I would recommend you book.
We went there for a birthday dinner for the second time, as we liked the place the first time. There is a friendly atmosphere there and the food is good with a combination of menu and specials. There's also a good selection of drinks, the staff there are all friendly too, it's a good place for a night out, it may be best to book a table though.
This is our 3rd visit and must add the quality has been consistent! No Sunday roast left so hubby had the Gammon,Grandaughter had the steak and I had the vegan pie, followed by sticky toffee pudding and the vegan trillionaires chocolate tart, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food no one left anything, the portion size is very generous,my husband enjoys the hand pulled beer on offer and says the selection is good, You get a friendly welcome and the atmosphere is good too, well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
A delightful pub. Great memorabilia on display. Great hospitality from the staff. We had 3 very tasty meals, which were freshly prepared and hot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Best to book at busy times. Very enjoyable.
Really excellent pub in the Peak District, just outside of Sheffield. We stopped over for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. Food is exceptionally good - portions are big and prepared with care. The service staff is polite and responsive and the meals came quickly. The decor is in a class by itself: the pub was built around the 1600s, which is amazing, and the old building is still fully functional; the old beams above are studded with beer mugs and old horse buckles throughout the ceiling. This entire effect creates an amazingly cosy and unique visual experience. We sat for a while I silence just taking in the beauty of the place. Will definitely be back for another lunch or dinner here. Talk with the staff: they’re a repository of local history about the place and surroundings.
