The Dragon, is a 150 year old pub with character, charm and a warm welcome! Situated in the heart of Willington village, backing on to the Trent and Mersey canal.
It has recently been sympathetically extended, renovated and restored with the introduction of a new 70 seater restaurant, courtyard and dedicated bar area to compliment our fabulous beer garden, on the edge of the canal. There is nowhere quite like The Dragon on a sunny afternoon…
We are the area’s favourite destination for diners, drinkers, walkers and boaters alike. We serve a superb selection of classic and contemporary dishes throughout the day. Bookings are advised for evenings and weekends but there is plenty of room and plenty of parking with a FREE public car park right next door! There is always plenty to see and do at The Dragon including featured dining nights, themed evenings and community events.
Had a beef and gravy sarnie and fish finger sarnie which were lovely but let down by the coleslaw and the salad served in place of fries. We changed tables and let the bar know but when they bought meals out they took to different table and took a while to find us. Nice that they allow dogs but dog owners then need to control the dogs and leave at the table with rest of their group when they go to the bar. No need to walk them to the bar so others trip over them.
An excellent place for food and wine. Great quality food served promptly by our outstanding waiter, Tristan who looked after us all evening and was also our waiter for breakfast. There is a car park on site plus an additional free car park next to the venue. This is a canal side venue which is great for walks.
Many thanks for today. We had an outdoor pod, 23rd December so busy and I had my autistic 18 year old son and your service was excellent, I noticed how staff adapted and we are coming back for his birthday, he's very happy with the visit.
Service was fab, friendly and helpful. The food was great, we enjoyed breakfast coffee and a cheeky prosecco. Nice space outside at the back to sit and relax.
Last minute booking and glad we did. Service was spot on, and food was really good. Arrived early but was still seated right away. The only downside couldn't park, so we had to park about 250m away. But that's probably Sunday lunchtime for you .
