Martin and Faye Lynch at the New Inn, Shardlow offer you a warm and friendly welcome, good food and a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Our pub, which is a listed building, is situated in the historic inland port of Shardlow and overlooks the Trent and Mersey Canal. On summer evenings, customers can sit outside watching the narrowboats and cruisers pass.
Food - We offer both a main menu with Starters such as Breaded Chicken Dippers and Main Courses such as Beef, Ale and Mushroom Pie and bar snacks (baguettes, paninis and jacket potatoes). We also serve Breakfast daily and have a Lite Bite Menu. There is also a Daily Specials Menu.

Drink – Our resident beers are Marston's Pedigree and Doom Bar. We always have five guest cask ales with beers from the Derby Brewing Company being regular visitors. We have been awarded the Cask Marque for the quality of our ales.

Popped in today after a walk with our dogs. My dogs bark a bit around other dogs but plenty of space to move around outside. The full English breakfast is superb, eggs cooked to perfection and everything spot on. Just wanted to leave a review. The girls that work there are lovely. Thanks peeps we'll be back! 👍👌
Popped in on the off chance they had a table free on Saturday early evening. They sorted a table for us, food was beautiful, we both had gammon and all the things that come with it 😂, it was the best gammon meal we have had in a long time, decided to take on pud so we could have it a bit later, that was lovely as well, would definately recommend it. 😊😊😊

The new in is a old traditional pub with friendly atmosphere , .I had cheesy chicken .with mushrooms and bacon and cheese on top.and salad, The food was excellent. If there was a pattern on the plate I would of scraped it off it was morish. Excellent food 😋 my compliments to the chef 😋. I was enjoying my meal and me and my partner. Sat on table 4 inside where the window was looking out of the window, And I felt a hand brush across my right knee.!!!! my partner was sitting opposite me and I said has I looked under the table, Ive just felt something like a hand brush across my right knee. There was nobody else around table no 4 and nobody on table no 3. Next to us. My partner said has he looked at me , wonder if it's got past history. What ever or who ever it was was friendly. And was letting me know there was a presence. It was strange but didn't scare me. This is when I started to find out the history of the New Inn at shardlow.. I am wondering if there is spirits or ghost present. If anybody else has felt a presence would be interested to get some feed back. Excellent customer service by the young lad. who was serving the food to each table,he had a very pleasant personality.and fantastic smile very helpful and pleasant. Will be back for more food and drinks. New Inn Shardlow. 100per cent worth a visit for food friendly atmosphere. Well done to all the staff excellent. Team work. And food and drinks 🍸 😋 😌 🤗
Good food and beers. Nice location. Not so pleasant an environment for meal as was loud, chaotic and hot. Have to struggle to get to bar to order food and drinks, but staff were friendly and helpful.
