Named after the original name for the road it stands on - Cap and Stocking Lane. A traditional back street pub with some tiled floors and etched glass windows. Still serving Bass from the jug. Caters for a wide range of ages and types of customer within a pub with 3 separate drinking areas. Mother and son run the pub. Comfortably decorated with button back benches and chairs. Lots of old photos of the area are on the walls throughout. Outside is a large, secluded tiered garden with petanque court. Occasional live music.

We went in and it was 5 minutes before we had 4 staring at us making comments about our looks and weight. Which is a shame really its now our closest pub and we feel we can’t go back. Prices are decent and the young lady on the bar was nice enough though
Just perfect! Great staff, fabulous food and ales! Wonderful location and made to feel very welcome. Just what we needed! Can't recommend enough 😀 A wonderful experience. Hope to return very soon! Many thanks x
Brilliant, family friendly local pub serving homemade food and great local beer. Dogs and children are also welcomed and their beer garden is very social and always well kept. Well worth a visit.
Not recommended for non locals or new drinkers, I found it difficult to get to the bar as locals just didn't make a way for me, a customer with a big dog never even tried to allow me in. The barmen served me through a squeeze, the pub wasn't even full!. Pub management need to make visitors and new drinkers more welcome and not allow a group to block the bar. Could do better. go else where.
Felt very safe in our own bubble at the table. Everyone following the guidelines correctly. Ordered 2 childrens meals and they was lovely and served quickly will be back :)
