Absolutely lovely pub, recommened by locals. Nice and cosy with open wood burner, although a little cold in other areas. Food took a little longer than expected, but well worth the wait. Big portions and flavour was lovely, All in all, great little place, definitely recommend.
We received warm and friendly welcome from the staff and other guests. The Christmas decorations were stunning, coordinated throughout the location. The place is dog-friendly, which really helps when on a UK vacation. We had not planned on eating, but after seeing the food that was being served, we decided to order for ourselves. We were not disappointed. Considering the restaurant was full, the food was tterrific. Better than places 2 or 3 times the price. Such a shame that this is just a short break. We will be returning in the future.
Out for an early birthday meal, food was so good.. only had main course of steak and ale pie.. completely stuffed. Nice cosy place with coal fires and lovely staff. Would highly recommend
Lovely pub in a lovely location, we was recommended it to try, well it took a while to find but what a lovely pub it was. Food was absolutely beautiful, I had fish and chips with mushy peas, my wife had fish pie, she did say it was the best fish pie she has ever haf with chunks of fish. we both said it's a place we will be visiting again. Definitely recommend to visit.
This has to be the best place we have ever had food from and we have been to dozens of places over the years. The pub on entry is well presented clean and fresh. With a lovely open fire near the bar. We had the fish and chips and the chicken skewers. All were freshly cooked hot and tasty. The sauces were to die for (not sure of the recipe but would be worth asking for it ! ) . Will definitely be returning at some point. The staff and owners were also very friendly and helpful. Bessie the Bassett hound will also pay you a visit for a stroke :).
