Brilliant place to eat and stay at, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious! I travel all over the uk on hiking trips and always try out local pubs to put money back into the pockets of the local people, I must say this was one of the best pubs I’ve been to in a while. Will definitely be returning when back in the Peak District 👏🏼👏🏼

Popped in for lunch. Nice place, big fire, warm and friendly. Host was particularly welcoming and went out of her way to look after us and our sausage dog pup Millie, despite her yapping. Most dog friendly pub we've ever been in. Food was excellent too. Fully recommend.

Drove past by chance last week and thought we’d try dinner this evening. So glad we did - what a find. We had our two daughters with us and were made very welcome by all the team. Food was excellent and service was spot on and very friendly. Think we’ve found a new favourite. We’ll be back!

This was a fabulous pub stopover in our motor home. The surrounding walks were stunning and perfect for walking with friends and the dogs. The hospitality from the landlady and all staff we met was top class and the food excellent. We had light bites one evening which were delicious, breakfast on both mornings - again delicious and an evening meal - perfect! The menu is incredibly varied with a wonderful Asian twist throughout and catering for all tastes. The range of beers and wines was also very good - to be honest we were spoilt for choice on every level. This is somewhere we will definitely return to again and again - oh and SO dog friendly 😀🐾

Having had a lovely 2 day break here last December we just had to come back, this time for 3 nights. Absolutely terrific stay, breakfast and the 2 meals we had were very good indeed. Incredible value too. We paid £270 for 3 nights b & b (not each by the way, that was for 2 people). Super location with marvellous views from the bedroom window, although whilst the room was absolutely fine the bathroom extractor fan wasn't working so it got a bit steamed up, there was no heated towel rail so the towels stayed damp, and there was no mirror over the sink so shaving was a little hazardous and getting a TV signal was a challenge, but that's the area not the pub's fault. These are pretty minor issues and certainly wouldn't put us off returning, but for us the most notable element of both our stays have been the staff. So, so friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Makes such a difference when staff actually seem to be happy in their job. We will be returning.
