Popped in for a lunchtime pint, great selection on offer. Friendly staff, made you feel welcome.
I came in for a couple pints first time in leek the girl (black hair)who served us was rude and unwelcoming and I would recommend retraining on all aspects of the bar. The pints which clearly had far too much gas in the line all night and when I questioned this and asked for a top up responded with a hostile reaction. Due to the level of customer service the atmosphere in the bar was deeply effected and negative. When she shouted last orders (@9 when the door says 10pm) she again became hostile with her patrons and further ruined the atmosphere in the bar. When considering this is a bar that attempts to come across as premium in both prices and decor it has clearly failed AVOID THIS BAR!
Great European beer place, very busy at peak times. Great atmosphere. Good alcohol free options. Steps to get in, toilets down stairs.
Always enjoy a visit to Den Engel, Leek. Fab selection of bottled and draught beers and a warm welcome! Now that live music has been added to the menu, practically perfection!👍🍺
This ‘Belgium’ bars choice of beer is excellent, most of the beers are served in the correct glass for the beer, it’s like being back in Ghent or Bruges. I’ve not eaten there but for the beer alone it’s well worth a visit!
