Great prices, friendly staff and nice atmosphere
I was thinking of giving up on finding a local, affordable, fun, and most importantly, safe place to drink where I could have a great night out with friends. That was until I was recommended to try out The Dean & Chapter. This is one of the best pubs I've been in! It's definitely in my top 5 pubs in the northeast. The pub itself is always clean and doesn't have that stale beer smell that most other pubs have. There is ample room inside, and those that need wheelchair access will have no trouble moving around inside. There are even disabled toilet facilities available. The toilets are well maintained and are clean. There are many events that are held inside, the latest being the Tyson Fury fight Live and Halloween disco. There are surprisingly large amounts of drinks and cocktails on offer. Everything from the familiar beers and wines to fancy cocktail jugs. All at amazing value. I'm always surprised by how much cheaper a round of drinks here are compared to other places I've drank. You could be saving up to a third for the same drinks you'd get elsewhere. The staff are amazing, always welcoming and friendly. Safety is a top priority for the pub's manager, who's a real angel. She always goes out of her way to make sure everyone is having the best time they can have and us always approachable. The staff also do an amazing job at making sure that drugs do not enter the pub. Keeping the younger girls safe from spiked drinks and from unwanted attention from tipsy male admirerers. This plagues many other pubs in the area. With door staff on weekends, this really is the safest place for any young adults to come out and unwind. Being a member of the LGBT+ community, I can find it quite difficult to find myself comfortable when out and in some pubs I've felt so unsafe that I have even left without even finishing my 1st drink. That is not the case in The Dean & Chapter. It is the only pub I've felt 100% safe in and can really let my hair down and enjoy my time out. To summarise, The Dean & Chapter is the perfect pub and is such an asset to Ferryhill. It is now my go-to place for socialising with friends and unwinding after work. I can not recommend this pub enough. It's the complete package. Great drinks at great prices. Friendly and welcoming staff. Acessable seating areas. Clean facilities. All in a safe environment. Well done to all those who make The Dean & Chapter what it is. A local pub, for the locals.
Lovely pub .shame about the bar staff and management attitude will be taking my hard earned money elsewhere where i feel welcome
Only go here for drinks so food not rated. Great atmosphere and one of the cheapest and best pubs in Ferryhill
