Perfect mid journey break. We were moving from the southwest to Glasgow and this was a good stopping place, and it was perfect. It's a 300 year old inn which has been really well updated, it's cosy, quaint but with the mod cons you'd expect in a much pricier place. We rang ahead to say we'd be arriving later than we'd hoped, and Helen called us back before closing the kitchen to see if we wanted anything made up, and that level of care and consideration was there across everything. Breakfast was really well done with lots of options, we couldn't have been happier, many thanks.

We had drinks in here on one night of our holiday and it was lovely. Really cosy feel and the drinks were lovely, so we decided to book a table for the following night for the pub quiz. When we arrived we sat for nearly half an hour before a food order was taken, I had some specific allergy requests which were initially handled well and it was agreed that the dish could be altered. However when the starter arrived, I was told that they had forgotten my allergy and was the food they were serving okay or not. The starters were nice and then we waited almost an additional hour before the mains were served. We had to ask staff on a few occasions before the food was finally served. The fish and chips I had ordered was completely overcooked and the lamb stew had 2 small pieces of lamb in it. They had forgotten side dishes we had ordered and we had to wait additional time for these. The waiting staff were lovely and out of 6 mains, 4 were fine. The manager did comp our 2 poor mains and we received an apology and were reassured this wasn't there normal food service. Its just a shame we were only there for 2 days so couldn't try again another day.

Lovely traditional pub, a bit like a warren inside I kept getting lost! I had the veggie stew, the others had roast beef and we all agree the food was delicious. Prices are fair, service was good and the pub itself cosy.

This was a fabulous find. Staying close by as attending a sporting event. Traditional cosy pub/restaurant. Food was excellent and was the service. I'm gluten intolerant and there was plenty of choice, dairy free and other allergen options. Definitely worthy 5 stars 🌟 They also have accommodation. Dog friendly. Will be back, thanks team 🤩

We had a fantastic meal here and every dish chosen was thoroughly enjoyed. I had the leek & potato pie and it was amazing, would highly recommend! Everything was home made and fresh. They also have a great wine selection.
