Called in here by recommendation from local maizE maze farm. Just dining; two adults two small kids. Excellent sharing fish platter. I don't normally eat squid battered or otherwise but I enjoyed it. Everyone commented on the chunky chips. Great ambience, wick table candles and log fire a treat. The recently made free public carpark at the back surrounded by other courtyard takeaways is a bonus. Only downside was a 47mile drive home!
The hotel was good for the price but the service could be improved. I asked for a printed invoice with company details for tax return which I could not receive during my stay. Afterwards I had to chase it via e-mail / phone and didn't receive them which is disappointing.
The Bulls head hotel was a really friendly well run establishment. When we arrived the chap behind the bar greeted us and took our bags to our room. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was a typical cumbrian feast. Perfect way to start your day. Highly recommend this place very close to the lake district. By the way Shane the toast was brilliant lol. A+++++
