Its always a beautiful and vibrant place its one of carlisles hidden gems a place that belongs in the history of carlisle the staff are very friendly and its right next to where the carlisle canal was situated its a must visit for any local historian or tourist.its always a great pint
Well I have to say that the premises is a place steeped in good memories for me, I spent many an hour in the premises, I found that the staff were very excellent and helpful to a tourist, a good level of service even if the premises was packed with people, they had a good selection of beers and larger on sale at any time of the day. All in all a totally enjoyable experience for a tourist or a night out.
We popped in here for a much needed pint en route from a days biking - Landlady & landlord very friendly - shame one of the locals knicked the light off my bike 😔 - what a shame - ruined a very happy hour! (No use to him anyway as needs the lead to charge it😂)
A proper local pub which is ran by a local landlord and his Mrs, Warm and welcoming, clean tidy and comfortable. It has a pool table and dart board for those who like a little bit of pub sports. This pub nearly died a death a while back as has happened to so many. Fair play to Darren and Andrea for keeping not just open but alive!.
Great pub for a couple of pints. Dropped in with my brother after a long day of walking. The landlord and the locals made us very welcome, even though we were clearly not locals ourselves. Would not hesitate to go back
