The place was nice and the staff were pleasant. The food was less than average though, the Sunday chicken dinner came with 3 or 4 slices of chicken which would equate to half a breast and I could play golf with the roast potatos. Roast beetroot is unusual choice also. The staff, although pleasant seemed to be new or unorganised or perhaps a bit of both. I won't be revisiting and I couldn't recommend

Very warm, cosy and friendly. Had 2 open fires which created a lovely atmosphere. Food was superb with a large choice of ales. Dog friendly. Would definitely return. The pies looked incredible.

We enjoyed two nights at the Howard Arms and found the room to be clean and comfortable, with quality bedding and a nicely refurbished en-suite bathroom. But it was the breakfast that elevated this place above much of the competition at this price point. I have stayed in much more expensive establishments and not enjoyed such a good breakfast. The buffet table featured fresh fruit, yogurt and seeds and fresh pastries in addition to the usual cereals. And the hot breakfast was excellent - a perfectly cooked fried egg, big fat locally produced sausage, a whole roasted tomato...and all cooked to order and served on warmed plates. And good coffee. Despite the room being above a busy and thriving pub, we found it to be surprisingly quiet. A shout out to the staff - really friendly and helpful.

We had a fabulous meal here whilst away for the weekend. They are super dog friendly - the bill even came with chocolates for the humans and a gravy bone for our pup. The food was lovely, and the service fab. We’ll definitely be back if we are in the area again.
