Just had a meal at the crown walney, ordered steak ale pie and chips. Chips and veg really good, 3 tiny pieces of steak but 2 table spoons of chunks of mushrooms in it. I hate mushrooms so wouldn't have ordered it had it not just said steak and ale. I mentioned this to chap serving but he didn't say anything or offer an alternative. Parking is very tight in tiny carpark, otherwise on road parking. Prices are dear, won't be going here again.
Couldn’t get a table on the night of our arrival, which is usually a good sign, but we got a table the next night. My lasagne was good, and my partner enjoyed her sweet and sour stir fry. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars across the board was because our table felt cramped and the service could have been a bit more friendly, but we’ll worth a visit for the food.
Great place for a quick lunch and a drink, or evening meal and a catch up. Caters for all and staff are excellent and friendly. Accommodates dogs both inside next to the bar and in the amazing outdoor garden where you can eat as well. There is a section inside where dogs aren’t allowed if that suits you too! Highly recommend booking a couple days in advance however as they book up very quickly due to popularity with locals!!
Great food and service. Not cheap though. Lunch time after 12 got busy with walk ins but the kitchen and staff coped well. Every meal that I saw served up to others as well as my group looked very desirable. Recommended.
Authentic pub with not only pub food. Try their sizzling signature dish Stir Fry - it's available in all kinds of different flavours. Recommended to make a reservation because it is often quite booked and sometimes closed for no obvious reasons.
