We’re shifting to autumn/winter mode in a big way and there will be hearty, heartwarming big hitters all winter long.
Unfortunately, It’s now time to say goodbye to some of our favs. Goodbye chicken gyros, we will see you again next year! but don’t worry Chef Louis has planned winter warmers galore. Chef’s Specials will be changing weekly and available Thursday – Saturday from 5pm they will run alongside our main menu available 12-8pm. We are serving our famous roasts 12-6 every Sunday with a quiz starting at 7pm.
There will also be a dessert overhaul, if you haven’t tried a giant slab of Chef Will’s chocolate brownie you haven’t lived, it’s perfection.
Breakfast is available Thursday & Friday from 9am then Saturday from 10am.
Now we do summer well but there’s just something about the old place during the winter months. The heatings cranked up, the candles are lit, the leaves have fallen and it’s super cosy inside.
We aim to fire up the Pizza oven on Friday & Saturday evenings, for Chef specials and for special events and hire. The garden room is open all year round, it’s the perfect spot for a cheeky pint after walking the dogs around Vicky on those crisp, sunny days.
No Mondays or Tuesdays round here, it costs a fortune to heat the old place up so for now it’s sweater weather and five fabulous days a week. Wednesday – Sunday food 12-8 till 6 Sunday, drinks till late.
Reservations
We won’t be at the phone Mondays or Tuesdays but we now have a new online booking system, you can book online by clicking the link at the top of this page or through Google. Please note – to avoid any surprises the system will not accept same day bookings or tables over 8 but you can still call us directly from Wednesday onwards Tel: 0151 4244077

Bookings
Larger group bookings of 12 or more will be required to pay a non refundable deposit of £5pp that is taken from your bill. You can pay over the phone or by dropping into the pub, for ease of service a pre-order of your meal choices would be greatly appreciated two days in advance. We do understand sometimes it’s a last minute plan to meet up so we will always do our best to accommodate walk-ins and groups that have not pre-booked. We also have a large heated garden room that is available for walk-ins and for those wanting to bring well behaved dogs along.

excellent food, cooked to order. steak and mushroom pie best i have eaten in a pub.
We had the SOUP OF THE DAY (Mushroom) and MAC N CHEESE CROQUETTES 4 -2 each, which we shared. Both were outstanding!! We highly recommend them. Food piping hot, just how I like it 😊
My wife and I had a delightful visit to The Crown Inn. The convenience of a well-kept carpark and complimentary WiFi added to the pleasant experience. The outdoor beer garden was a highlight, offering a nicely landscaped area with ample seating and charming greenery. The ambient music, whether indoors or out, was just right.Stepping inside, the pub exuded a cosy and tidy atmosphere. The decor, featuring artificial plants, an old-fashioned bar, and a fireplace, was a lovely touch. The spaciousness inside was unexpected but appreciated. The service was friendly and efficient, with prompt attention from the waitress for both drinks and food orders. The presentation of the food was appealing, and the wait was reasonable.The portions served were generous to the point that dessert might be a challenge. The menu had a commendable variety, matching the delightful drink options. The atmosphere was calming, and the staff handled a busy afternoon admirably. Even the gentleman at the bar, during the payment process, showed genuine interest in our experience. My wife and I would recommend The Crown Inn for a satisfying outing, where the details are well taken care of.
Dropped in for lunch, never been before, the food was excellent, we had the steak and mushroom baguette with home made chips, food was absolutely beautiful, freshly made to order. The garden was lovely, calm and quiet, despite having quite a few other diners. The service was prompt and very pleasant staff. It might have been our first visit but it definitely won't be our last. Good fresh food, well cooked no microwave overprocessed food here, a proper delight.
If you go for a meal, which I highly recommend, call them and book first because this place does amazing food and is usually pretty full. Great food, clean environment, friendly, polite and accommodating staff who really made certain customers were happy with the food, absolutely great experience, I will definitely be visiting again!
