The Crown Inn has been at the cnetre of Oakengates since 1835. This three-roomed hostelry is one of only 32 pubs in the U.K. to hold CAMRA's Golden Award, Oakengates' Crown Inn has served around 20,000 different beers since being rescued from dereliction in 1995. We aim to be a friendly & convivial venue, hosting hundreds of events each year, such as:-
Quality Live Music, with performances on many Saturday evenings and Shropshire's longest-running Open Mic Night on the last Thursday of each month. Telford Acoustic Club on Wednesday evenings;
Telford Comedy Club on the second Tuesday of each month (except August), plus extra "Edinburgh Festival Preview" shows from May to July;
Quiz Nights on the last Sunday of each month;
Telford Beer Festival at the start of May. Our 51st festival runs from 2nd to 6th May, featuring 24 cooled handpulls;
Telford Board Games Club on the first & third Thursday evenings of each month;
"Beer & Banter" afternoons for the Royal British Legion on the first Thursday afternoon of each month.
We aim to get people off the sofa with a wide range of great events and then to let them enjoy what we have to offer.

Never been there before, on Saturday night went to the firefly a couple of doors away, not a good concert, but went to the crown, everybody was so lovely had a dance ace stuff !
Crown Inn doesn't sell food but it's a well run old fashioned pub and the beer is good .
Great prices, staff are friendly and welcoming, good atmosphere. Highly recommended. I'm in a wheelchair, and didn't realise there is an entrance to the rear of the building with flat level access. Looking forwards to my next visit.
My most used Oakengates local, only pub to serve Leffe Belgian beer on draft.😍 Lovely staff, always a friendly welcome received. One small moan, the music when played in the main bar, is overpowering and to loud for the size of the room, but that's just my humble opinion! Most of my friends and acquaintances have been made in this establishment. Thank you, John, Tania and staff.
The Crown Inn is truly one of the greatest pubs you will ever visit! It is a classic pub through and through! The pub is freehold and always has an amazing range of ales on tap with at very reasonable prices. Can always find a great beer to drink each visit! Always a good supporter of local breweries! They also have a huge range of bottled beers from around the world you can drink. So always something different to try. If your not an ale person don't worry they also have a huge range of wines, gins and spirits. There is also plenty of events on as well, music nights, comedy nights, open mic nights, board game nights and quiz nights. There is always something on every week to enjoy. The staff are great as well, very knowledgeable about what they sell. If you meet John the landlord he will always give a great recommendation for which beer to pick.

On New Year's Day, we open at 4pm. We need recovery time too!!
We are proud to have served over 20,000 different real ales since 1995 but we also serve some keg-craft beers too, including Budvar Pardal from the Czech Republic and Stonehenge Shark Beach from Oswestry, alittle closer to home. We stock about 50 single-malt whiskies and small-batch gins, as well as other spirits, wines, soft-drinks and alcohol-free beers and ciders.
We offer real pork pies, pasties and sausage rolls as well as traditional bar snacks. You are welcome to bring in your own food, as long as it's not smelly - no vinegar allowed!
