The chickpea curry I had was very tasty, and the portion was generous. The hot drink and pud were just the right thing after as it satisfied my sweet tooth without being too much. Our waitress was extremely attentive and helped me choose a drink as my preferred choice was not available and she couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend it. The fire in the fireplace also added to the ambience.
Great place with really tasty food at a reasonable price, given four stars for service as was waiting for quite some time to be served but no big deal as was fairly busy, four star for food due to having there salted caramel sundae they had filled it with chocolate brownie and cream, obviously had ran out of ice cream but still served me that, wasn't very impressed, if they had informed me of having no ice cream for the sundae I would have chosen something else instead, having said that I would definitely go again as staff were helpful and friendly, and a lovely relaxed atmosphere 👍
We chose the Crown as it says it is a dog friendly pub. Our puppy Cockapoo is only 5 months old & we were amazed at how behaved he was. When we arrived we were led to our table & other dogs came in but our Freddie was still well behaved. We had a choice of 2 menu's. Sunday or Festive. We both chose 2 roast turkeys off the Sunday menu. Food soon came, quite a plateful. One thing we found was that most of the vegetables were hard & we both like them softer, but that's just us. On the whole with the desert, the experience was a pleasant one, made better by some other diners near us & one was a dog groomer, so lots to talk about. We would go again.
The pub itself looks really nice and has a rustic feel to it. Food was very good taste wise, and the portion sizes were alright for the price. The lady that served us was absolutely lovely (deserves a raise) but unfortunately they were quite understaffed meaning the food and drinks took a long time to arrive. I didn't mind that much to be fair, it's a nice place to chill with mates anyway. I recommend the beef cheek on the festive menu, it's elite. Lot's of whole vegetables in it tho if that puts you off. I kinda feel like I paid a good chunk of the price for them, but oh well. Still, would fine here again!
My husband and I came to the crown for some lunch today. I ordered the "classic burger" . That was legitimately, the best burger I have ever eaten. My goodness. Compliments to the chef!!.
