The Crown is a fabulous opportunity to take on a historic, Grade 2 listed, 18th century coaching Inn on the popular High Street of Royal Wootton Bassett. With Oak panelled interior, a large fireplace and a selection of cosy trade areas, it can appeal to a wide audience following some investment. The pub is a one bar operation with three distinct trading areas. The lounge area at the front of the pub is on two levels with traditional wood panelled walls and mixture of carpet and timber flooring. The central snug area is immediately in front of the main bar servery and suits a more vertical drinker. Finally, to the rear of the premises is what has previously been used as a games area with access through to the garden areas and letting rooms. The external area consists of a paved patio immediately to the rear of the pub that then leads out to a large lawned beer garden. The private accommodation is well sized and suited to a family, all four bedrooms also have ensuites as they have in the past, also been used as B&B rooms.
Really good welcome clean spacious room cosy and very comfortable despite another post ,that I believe I s false, there's NO traffic noise permitting the room is clean tidy and very nice
Nice, simple, inexpensive place to stay, right in the heart of Wootton Bassett with helpful staff. Food and beer are good, rooms are clean and have all that we needed. NB breakfast wasn't provided but lots of options available as we were right on the high street.
Nice enough downstairs area, ideal location, we were not expecting much but at least expected a clean room, found alternative place to stay, no refund offered as I should have said something more than they should keep the bed clean.
Welcomed by a lovely women called Jackie. Booked in quickly and showed to my room. The room was small but cozy and clean. It had a really nice smell. The en-suite was a decent size. The bed itself was slightly hard but was comfortable and warm. The only two issues I had were the shower wasn't very strong and that the hotel could be noisy at times, which is to be expected as it is also a pub. Checking out was a quick and easy process. I would stay again.
Very affordable place, very friendly and great drinks! Food is delicious and served quickly too. I've been to all the pubs in Royal Wootton Bassett and this is by far my favourite.
