Situated in the charming East Lothian village of East Linton, The Crown and Kitchen is the local everyone wants on their doorstep. The crown & kitchen has good food, a great wine list, real ales, cocktails and welcoming professional staff.
The renovation of the pub has been a labour of love for proprietor Billy Robertson. Formerly the General Manager at Tempus Bar and Restaurant at the George Hotel and a couple of units for the Montpelier’s Group in Edinburgh, Billy knew the place he wanted the Crown to become. “As my Papa has lived in the village for the past 15 years, I knew and loved The Crown. And when the chance to buy the pub came up I jumped at it. The Crown has in the past been a local’s bar and although I loved that I also knew that it could be transformed into a place where folk would be happy to travel 30 miles to visit. So with the help of my Dad a local builder, Adam Storey at Four-by-Two design….and local craftsmen I created a place where I would like to visit and where everyone feels welcome, local or not”.
Great place , and on arrival I was greated by Colin who advised he had sat us next to fire which was especially nice as the Christmas tree was next to it. Top place and the food was grand, I was inbetween looking for locations for projects and meeting and old friend and discovered this little treasure. Highly recommend James JAG ART 82
Popped in on the off chance of dinner to an already busy pub and the staff could not be more accommodating. Can't pick fault at any of the food, drinks, atmosphere or service. Will definitely be back.
Roo. Was clean if sparsely furnished. Advertised as breakfast included but no offer of cereals fruit juice yogurts etc just cooked breakfast. No extra toast etc will not return.
We had a meal there. Excellent food and a lovely warm welcome. Certainly go again.
Very pleasant wee pub and lodging 🏡 house set in a charming old town, East Linton. The staff were wonderful and really cared about our welfare ... especially the young girl in the bar. The room we were allocated was more replete than one might have expected and it served well for the Sunday evening we spent there. Slightly put out by the chef knocking off at six, but, undeterred, we found a great fish and chip sit-in meal in nearby Dunbar later. Would recommend this place.
