The Cross Keys is a traditional English village Pub with Real Ales and a fine selection of single malt whiskies to complement the usual refreshments that are found, as well as selling good quality traditional food. All welcome - if you are out for a walk why not come in for a rest and a nice cup of tea, coffee or a beer.
With traditional Pub games on site such as pool & darts, there is plenty to do at The Cross Keys. There is also a small side room that can accommodate 12-14 people for those that require a quiet meal/drink, along with eating areas through out the pub and outside dining.
We have 2 Bed and Breakfast letting rooms that are detached from the Pub, each with their own seating, en-suite shower room & tea making facilities.

Located in the village of Newbold, North-West Leicestershire, 3 miles from Ashby de la Zouch and about the same distance from Coalville.
Donnington Race track and East-Midlands airport are only 10 mins drive away and there are excellent links to both the M1 and M42 motorways.

Came here after Calke Abbey was closed and we were so happy we did! The staff were so welcoming and gave us a lovely comfy table for 9. Food was delicious, generous portions and very reasonably priced. It arrived in good time too. Dog and children friendly. Will definitely return when next in the area. Thanks again!
Nice atmosphere, good pub grub, and we stayed in there little rooms next door to pub.very clean and nicely laid out . We will be back.
Have visited many times and the food and service has always been excellent. Our small Rotary club now meet there on a regular basis and we couldn’t feel more welcome. I always highly recommend it to anyone who shows an interest, or who wants to know of any good places to eat.
Popped into this lovely pub after visiting Calke Abbey. Didn’t know the area but saw the signs for the pub and very glad we found it. From the moment we went in the staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable with any questions I asked. The pub is nicely decorated with a tv and pool table too. We didn’t go outside but from what I saw from the window it looked clean and nice. The waitress who took our order was pleasant and helpful and the food arrived promptly. (We were first in at 5pm) The food was perfect and very tasty, proper home cooked not microwaved. I had the veggie sausage and mash with lashings of gravy, my daughter the cheese and tomato pizza. I then had the sponge pudding for dessert. Which was amazing. The service was 10/10 my daughter even knocked over some of her drink and they refilled it for me which I appreciated. The toilets were also nice which sometimes in pubs it can go unnoticed. Overall a great place to eat, child friendly, clean, great food and to service. I’d recommend it.
