One of the best beef bourguignons that I have ever had. Possibly a new chef, as the chicken burgers were slightly different and also delicious. Very good standard of pub food at the moment and reasonably priced.
The pub itself was pleasant. The fire was far too hot and no windows open. The bar tender/manager with the red hair was so rude, obnoxious that i almost couldn't believe it. He didn't have a very pleasant manner about him in any way. The food was average but what was great was the waiter that was serving our food. He was very polite, personable and every question was answered well and with a "nothings too much of a problem attitude". Was shocked as it was recommended too us.
Popped in here because we were hungry not knowing anything about the place. Made very welcome - it's cosy, well laid out and friendly staff and other people. We struck up interesting conversations with three groups of people all together. Anyway log fire, low ceiling, great food and beer. Perfect.
I lovely friendly pub, we just stopped in to have a couple of drinks before dinner up the road at the curry house in Leiston. They had a log burner operating which really invited you to sit back and relax. Really nice atmosphere.
Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Cross Keys. An extremely comfortable and spacious room with a fabulous sea view. The whole staff team were welcoming, friendly and really looked after us, throughout our stay. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts served each morning next to the wood burner. Highly recommend!!
