This stunning 16th century Inn is situated in the village of Avoncliff, nestled on the canal towpath by Avoncliff station between Bath and Bradford on Avon. We’re a traditional country pub with contemporary craft flavour. With original timber beams, open fires, beautiful gardens with extended al fresco dining space, panoramic views of the river Avon & a very warm welcome – the Cross Guns is a true destination pub.
We believe in taste, style & time well spent. Escape the city, life tastes better here. Bring the kids, the dog, ramble through fields of the Two Valleys walk then hang your wellies at the door & enjoy idyllic countryside fare.
Absolutely gorgeous place to visit especially in the sunny weather, we visited with friends for a Sunday roast, parking was a little difficult but we found a spot, not the pubs fault at all as it’s owned by a different company for the area. But the pub, food & staff were great, we sat outside on the decking overlooking the canal and the most beautiful scenery, the food was top notch, great sized portions, and reasonably priced. It’s quite a busy place so I was glad my friend booked in advance. Dog & kid friendly and perfect for walks, we are looking forward to going back.
Had a light bite at the 'guns' this evening after a stroll along the canal from Bradford on avon ( not as far as you might think!) Food was delicious! I can recommend the falafel off the 'small plates' menu. Lovely staff, very pretty spot!
Everything about thus place was charming. The venue the staff beers were great food was fantastic. Staff were lovely
What a beautiful setting for a pub garden. We didn't have any food but looking at what other people had, it looked lovely. One big downside is there are a lot of steps to get into the garden, and it feels like even more when you leave!!
Lovely place, great view and nice service. The guy at the bar let us try the beers before choosing one since we hadn't heard of them before and was unsure on what to get. Nice stop after our long walk from Bradford on Avon! We were visited by a family of swans and their babies while we were drinking our beers, and met a lovely friendly dog:)

The philosphy at The Seven Stars is quite straightforward, simple yet effective. With a hard working, friendly team, wonderful locally sourced produce and a great selection of beers, wine and spirits
