This is a real ale pub and there's a great selection of beers. There's always a decent atmosphere and lots of people go there. There isn't much room inside when it's full and you quickly become a roundabout and apparently in everyone's way. Other than that it's fine. Not as good as the Turk's Head on Cooper Street.
This is a proper locals pub, I only ever found about this place because a mate told me about it. The pub itself from the outside looks like it isn't open lol, and the sign is half hanging off but when you go in there it was rammed packed and quite big inside. We sat out the back on these beer kegs which had been converted into seats. The pub itself I don't think has been renovated in a very long time but I like that kind of stuff. I would recommend coming here.
The Cricketers Arms is an amazing pub. The beer is superb, the pub is lovely and has some nice snug corners with a lovely outdoor space. I didn't have any food so can't comment on that but the overall pub experience is a must. Only slight criticism is that this pub gets very busy on certain days and they'll be nowhere to sit or can take a while to get served. But this pub is brilliant overall
10 of us visited and 13 ales to choose from plus magnificent pies. Superb place.
Quality pub that’s won a load of awards over the years. Short Walk from St. Helens town centre. Lots of ales. Something for everyone. Good range of whiskey and brandy too. Serves simple hearty grub (pies, pizza, hotpot)interesting local characters and friendly behind the bar. Shows the sports. Great pub. Highly recommended if you’re in the town 😁🏉🍻
