Beautiful picturesque village pub. Came for a family birthday lunch only. Wonderful dining experience! Great service! Superb, friendly bar n restaurant staff! Excellent food w/ very generous portions. 😋 My Steak n Ale pie w/ winter veg was delicious! Bonus: Hook Norton Ale! An absolute gem of a pub & restaurant! Recommend to all! (BTW, parking is limited.)
Excellent food and service. Very good with gluten free options even offered things not on the set menu. Will be back again. Car park is a bit small so if going as a group, it's best to car share.
A lovely experience. We popped in for lunch today, after recently moving to the area, and we will certainly be back. A warm, welcoming atmosphere, good food and drink options and an attentive service. Though, we were served by a member of the team who has just started recently, they were a little nervous, but still attentive and interested. We will certainly be back soon.
Soiled sheets, unclean bathroom, loud. With only two rooms available, having them clean and presentable shouldn’t be a problem. However, the sheets on the bed in the room allocated to me were soiled. I was assured they were clean, but the smell (and visual stain) tells me they were not clean. The walls are thin, and not conducive to a good night sleep. That being said, if you like gossip, you’ll get plenty of it from the staff behind the bar. I contacted the hotel to ask for a partial refund, but I was accused of being rude. The request was ignored on three attempts. Food was good though, so thumbs up to the chef. Spend the extra few quid and stay elsewhere.
Visited with friends. We had booked a table ( recommend if you can) on a Friday night in October. The pub was quite busy, but the waiter still made time to talk through the menu with us. The service from this chap was excellent and informative throughout the evening. When our food arrived, it was pipping hot and cooked to perfection. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, it was very clean and the food well presented. Would I recommend it? Yes, I certainly will.
