Christmas Dinner at £50 a head. No drinks included with meal. Meat was cooked to perfection but arrived cold. Our veg was slopped onto a side plate with no tongs for serving and was cold & hard. Complained at the time with no response from staff except to direct us to the feedback section. Dessert order was also wrong so first time there and unfortunately the last.

Went for 2.30 for pre booked Christmas Dinner. Dinner was served, starters was fine, main course came and was totally cold. Everyone around had the same experience. Was not happy as were other guests, had paid a lot. Will not be back to this place.

Have been in a few times for lunch because we live locally. The food is quite good and value for money, although there’s sometimes a bit of a wait. What really lets this place down is the attitude of the staff. Regularly bickering and complaining behind the bar and generally dour. You feel they’re doing you a favour by serving you.

Waited over an hour for food and this is what I was served. Literal charcoal. What member of the kitchen cremated this and not only that allowed it to be served? Staff were unhelpful and ignoring my questions of where is our food? Horrific and will not be back.

Trying to put a reasonable perspective on this. I have visited many times for drinks and the quiz. Decided to have dinner and was extremely disappointed. Order was taken down wrong and therefore wrong main served. One order was forgotten about, however the quality of the food was no better than 3/10 presentation poor and sauce served in a bowl, quality decidedly average. Another point is when you order drinks for example a Stella and it comes in a Carling glass. Ordered 4 over the night each in a different glass none of them in the Chalice!!! not great. Would I go back to the pub? Definitely. As for food I appreciate its ‘Pub Grub’ but spending over £50 on mains you expect better and will give it a miss in the future.
