The high level of nutrients in coffee can be used to create a rich, good quality compost that can add a healthy addition to your soil and help your plants grow.
Studies also show that compost containing coffee are better for the environment as they produce less emissions.
To celebrate this, we are giving away FREE Coffee Compost to our customers. Simply pop into the coffee shop for a drink, cake or lunch and pick up your free bag. Don't forget to tweet us or tell us on Facebook how your compost is working out.

The new coffee shop based at The County Lodge & Brasserie in Carnforth, opened its doors on Monday 26th November 2018.
Serving a wide selection of coffees sourced from Kendal based coffee Merchants, Farrer’s, The County Coffee House will also offer a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and light bites and of course cakes, biscuits and various sweet delights.
This new venue is aimed at all residents, workers and visitors to the area, who can relax in the comfortable surroundings, reading complimentary newspapers and making the most of free wi-fi.
The County Lodge & Brasserie already runs as a successful restaurant, hotel and function venue, however, the demand for somewhere for customers to enjoy something a little more relaxed was clear.
Speaking of the decision to open the Coffee Shop, General Manager, Paul Hancock, states, “We have seen an increase in customers popping in for a coffee and cake or light lunch and wanted to expand on this and improve our service offering. With The County being so close to the M6, we also get a lot of passing business people and they often just need somewhere to check emails and refuel. Options for this type of venue are limited within the Carnforth area, so we saw this as a great opportunity to add to the local community”.
Dave Walsh, General Manager of Farrer’s, Kendal, commented: ‘’Provincial Hotels and Inns, have seen an opportunity to create something quite unique in Carnforth. The County Coffee House represents a significant investment, which will significantly elevate the facilities on offer of the County Hotel. We are proud to support their endeavour and welcome the opportunity to provide the team at the County Coffee House with our locally produced coffees and teas. As a company, Farrer’s is dedicated to sourcing the best coffee beans and finest teas from across the globe to deliver the very best product to each and every one of our customers. We wish the team at The County Coffee House every success and look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship.’’
The Coffee Shop will be open daily, including weekends. Current opening hours are 9am to 5pm, however but extended hours will be available if required. less
