The Kingslodge Inn is situated in a very quiet location. The Inn has a cosy feel to it. Rooms are well maintained. The staff are friendly, Polite and Professional. Food is 1st class. Stayed for 2 nights over the new year. We couldn't fault it. The Kingslodge Inn is only a 12 minute walk into Durham City Centre.
I stayed at the Inn for three nights, 20-22nd December with my elderly parents. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and warm, the breakfast choices excellent. But what stood out above all was the friendliness and attention of the staff. Very pleasant, courteous and helpful staff. I would happily recommend this place to any visitor to Durham.
A lovely quaint, not super new room but this didn't detract from great staff, food, atmosphere etc. Loved the feel of a country Inn just minutes from the city. Only thing I'd suggest, some repairs on the arms of the super comfy lounge chairs. Thank you.
Perfect location to walk into this beautiful town, the history and architecture of Durham are amazing, all the locals that we met were extremely pleasant and sweet and proud of this area. The hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean slightly worn in places, the staff are unfailingly kind and pleasant and the food is superb. Unfortunately I think we must've had the smallest room in the place, would be ok for one night but we had 3 nights but we managed, don't accept room 10!!
Overall very good. Location is excellent - didn't need to use the car for most of our visit to Durham. Castle, cathedral, shops, bars and the rail station all easily walkable. Also, the hotel is in a quiet location other than when the refuse lorry arrives! Breakfast is good quality and staff very helpful.
