The Half Moon is an award-winning city local that's stayed true to its roots. You'll find all sorts of interesting features in our grade-I listed Tudor building, which was chosen by the BBC as an ideal backdrop for its George Gently series. Quality beer is just as important to us: we've featured in the Good Beer Guide for 30 years running, with CAMRA giving our cask ales their seal of approval. In summer, you can take your pint out to our picturesque riverside courtyard and soak up great views of the cathedral.

Use The Half Moon Inn to watch the football when out on a Saturday night. There are televisions throughout the pub and all around the outside areas, and a portion of the outside area has overhead heating lamps. If seated outside you can also order drinks from your table by using a QR code beside the table, with an option to tip the staff for their great service.

4.5 ⭐️ Nice clean pub, many large screens in the different in & outside bar areas for avid futbol student and adult fans. Large patio seating areas with a view of the River.

Lovely atmosphere, great spot for all kind of live sports on tv like football, cricket, f1... great selection of beers wine and spirits. Very friendly staff especially Lea and Berry 5/5 been there few times and will definetly be back soon, best beer garden and best pub in all Durham in my opinion

Best pub we went in over 3 nights in Durham. Friendly staff, lovely beer garden if you drop on the weather and most of all very reasonable prices. Very clean inside and as usual for Durham very welcoming locals . Total recommended.
