Lovely country inn ,was made welcome as soon as we walked in was cosy and warm ,cute little bar, then tables otherside of the bar, excellent service, the food was delicious, broccoli and cheese soup to start ,gammon, 2 eggs and chips with peas ,then Lovely trillionares tart ,was a 2 for £20 night on a Wednesday and worth every penny paid ,Thursday is pie night ,vegetarian options ,my partner had steak with chips salad and onion rings and he loved it ,to start he had chicken wings and they were delicious, can definitely recommend the cottage tavern for a nice quiet meal 😀
Not trying to be something it's not, this place does it really well. Simple, but tasty, and great value pub food. Friendly, helpful staff. Regular theme nights sound like they go down well too.

Generous portion sizes and fantastic flavoured food.
An absolute jewel of a find! It's only just re-opened under new management and the quality and presentation of the food is something you'd find in a michellin starred establishment (but without the michellin starred price tag!) Atmosphere was great and our hosts/the management very friendly & welcoming. Whilst this was our 1st visit, it seemed that the rest of the clientele were all returning visitors (which is a pretty good endorsement when you've only been open 3 weeks!)
