Cute hotel with a lovely bar area. Rooms were comfortable and warm, and the showers were hot too. Breakfast was good, with a variety of dishes to choose from.

Went here for dinner on a blustery evening in early January and the three of us all greatly enjoyed our meals! The food was fantastic and well priced, and Jo behind the bar was so friendly and really made us feel welcome.

The location was great and the breakfast offerings, while basic, were absolutely delicious. They catered well to a gluten-free guest, and although it would have been even better if they have gluten-free sausages and burger buns, my mother was thrilled to be able to have gluten-free fish and chips. I had the 'fish finger' sandwich which had battered strips of fish made in-house and it was divine! Sadly it was clear that the counter under the tea tray in our room had not been cleaned (it had coffee granules and biscuit crumbs under it), but the rest of our twin room was very clean and the rooms were a generous size for such a central location above a pub. Overall good value for money and you cannot beat the location. Be aware that they are pretty firm on the 16:00 check-in time and there isn't a space to securely store luggage (we kept ours behind the bar, which was not a problem, but I imagine it would be if they are busier).

Wife and I stayed here for a night away in Cornwall, great pub, amazing staff. Room was large and clean, huge ornate bed, although it did try to smash my kneecap when walking past it... maybe that was more my fault than the beds. Bed was sturdy and comfy 😉 Evening meal in the bar was good, I think it offered great value for money. The staff have the perfect balance of friendly and banter, alongside making sure you are looked after.. Breakfast was good, my only gripe.would be to have a menu, I think this would speed up service and make the servers life easier, but just my thought. If we were in the area again then I would 100% stay here.

Lovely place for food and drinks, the food is very well priced for what you get. They pour the drinks just right, and they are very friendly. I came here for a few hours after a long walk round the cost and felt very satisfied once I left. We was warned of a long waiting time for food due to the large amount of customers they had but we ended up receiving the food faster than we were told. Its also dog friendly which I was very glad to see, I don't own a dog but it's always nice to see places where they are welcomed.
