Whilst in St Mawes, we called in for lunch. First things first, and there was a birthday party for a resident in the bar area - absolutely no issue with that, but Rising Sun staff please put a note on the door to redirect those not involved with that event (we sat in the party! Moved, no problem, but could have easily avoided that slight embarrassment). Once seated, we were seen reasonably quickly and ordered a drink each alongside fish and chips. These were delicious and noting one if our party is gluten-free, the meal was easily served gluten-free free too, so top marks there. Pudding choice is good but slightly restricted if gluten-free so the restaurant team could do with looking at this, but it wasn't a specific issue today. All in all, a lovely lunch, and we'd be happy to return when that way again.
We ate at the Rising Sun for my Mum's 60th Birthday surprise meal. 15 of us all together. The food was amazing (I had the Steak and Ale Pie, definitely recommend!!) And the Staff were just as amazing. Ellan, Megan and Jack couldn't have done more for us. Thank you for making my mums birthday so great! We will definitely be coming again.
The renovations have utterly transformed the Rising Sun. It’s clean, bright, fresh and a pleasure to visit. The staff are wonderful. Happy, knowledgeable and chatty! The food is just consistently great. We visited again last night and once again had a great meal. During January and February they are offering a voucher lottery and we hit the jackpot with a significant % off our bill! We will back. Vouchers or not, The Rising Sun is a fantastic place to visit for all!
The food and service is excellent, great choice for vegetarians. Our dog was made welcome with treats and water available. The banana blossom and chips was great. We liked the Rising Sun so much we returned for a second visit during our week in St. Mawes.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this stunning accommodation. The staff were exceptional, consistently going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time! The rooms were not only cosy but well-equipped with all the necessities. I am grateful for the remarkable hospitality and care provided by the team during our stay. Thank you guys!
