This is an absolutely gorgeous pub! Not only is it very cosy and beautiful, the food is fantastic- it goes beyond gastro pub. The KFP (fried Partridge) was unusual and well executed. The beef wad cooked perfectly. There is a fire place and lovely stone walls. If you can get a table, definitely stop here.

Stopped in just after lunch service had wrapped and the team was flexible and put together some of their easier-to-prep meals for us. Fish and chips + a burger. Both were outstanding and the service was beyond top notch. SO happy we ventured down the lane to find the St. Kew Inn. Only regret is not visiting on a warm summer night when we could have sat out back in their lovely garden.

Had dinner here and had high expectations due to reviews, people we know having been here recently and Andrew’s culinary experience. The food was good, but, a little disappointing - perhaps our expectations were too high. The crab rarebit starter was delicious and probably the highlight. The “from the fire cooked over wood etc” section made me think the hake we ordered would be cooked over flame and either have some nice charred skin, or, some flavour imparted from the smoke. Unfortunately I had neither and it just seemed to be pan cooked. It was tasty, though, and well cooked but the capers meant to be in the dish were left out. The staff weren’t sure if they were missing or not when I checked, showing a lack of knowledge on the details of menu. The beef was served pink or well done (no in between option). Assured that the pink serving meant no blood, we went for it but regretted not asking for it well done in the end as it was too rare and chewy for our liking. Broccoli side was just steamed which was to be honest a bit boring considering the food standards. Smoked cream ice cream for dessert was nice and something different. Service was slow and passive, but not unfriendly. Found it difficult to get a table for 2 about 10 days before but unsure of why as it seemed relatively quiet during our time here. Possibly staggered table availability to manage staffing and end of season. Not sure but you’ll need to book ahead. Fair value for money. would return but not in a rush but I expect most would enjoy.

Lovely old pub and beautiful setting. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lunch service only from 12. Try the St Kew Ale, very creamy and smooth.
