About us

Alan and Lindsay welcome you to The Harbour Tavern, Mevagissey!

The Harbour Tavern is situated right on the harbour front, with amazing views of Mevagissey’s historic fishing port, the fishing boats, the birds, and of course the hardworking fishermen.

We pride ourselves on a warm welcome, a cosy pub with a selection of ales, lagers, ciders, wines, spirits, as well as a selection of non-alcoholic and soft drinks. Our staff are also barista trained, so you can enjoy a wide range of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

We serve food all year round, with a delicious selection of meals available on our main menu. We also serve cakes and Cornish Cream Teas during the summer months! See what’s on the menu here.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome at The Harbour Tavern, we have treats waiting for them!

We are also proud to offer Sky Sports and a darts board for all our customers to enjoy. We also have a selection of events planned throughout the year, alongside live music and bingo at the weekends! All event details will be posted on our website events page, as well as on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure you’re following us to keep up to date with what’s going on.

This place was perfect. Right on the harbour with amazing views and great beer. We went over the sea shanty weekend and the atmosphere was perfect, a lot of laughs and a few pints with the rugby. The staff are brilliant and do everything they can to accommodate and make us feel at home!

Unfortunately we hated it. Arrived just before 6pm. Got seated straight away on the last unbooked table. From then on it was a car crash. Ordered our meals at the side of the bar that said 'food order here' but the staff seemed unaware of any signs and 2 seprate ques and even had the cheak to moan to the lady infront of me about standing in the wrong place! There were locals at the bar so she was standing where she could! Anyway after a long wait we ordered including a starter, ham egg and chips but asked of I could swap the ham for sausages, kids fish and chips and adult fish and chips. The kids fish and chips were bigger and cheaper! The sausage and chips was just one sausage cut in half! Smell of cooking oil was insane for the whole hour we waited for our food. When asked why it took so long I was rudely told with a shrug, well that's what happens when it's busy. Didn't feel it was that busy! And to top it off, after paying and leaving checked the receipt to see they had over charged us £3 on our starter (bowl of olives and 2 pieces of bread) which on the menu was an overpriced £5.95 but we were charged £8.95! I returned to complain and get a refund but was told oh the menues are wrong, we haven't updated them, and then waited for me to leave! I didn't and reluctantly the member of staff gave me £3 from the till. Food was OK though but won't ever go back and can highly recommend ALL other food outlets that Mevagissey has over this one.

So yummy, we came one night and couldn't get in so went back the next and where lucky. Our toddler had mac n cheese with some fries, both tasty and high chair was provided so very kid friendly. I had the seafood thermador which was delicious and my husband had a prawn dish from the specials board which he loved. We shared a chocolate brownie sundae for pudding which was spot on.

Lovely food and lovely atmosphere. We have eaten here many of times in the past. Staff are always very polite and helpful. Food is very tasty. All tables get sanitised properly before new guests are getting invited inside. We were all asked to queue outside. Alcohol gel just inside the door on entry we wore our masks to the table like most others did. They were able to use full capacity of tables all food is served from 12-8pm.
