Menu choices slightly limited but ok. Portions quite small, but delicious. Made the mistake of ordering the creme brulee for dessert and it was inedible. I should have sent it back and got the sticky toffee pudding instead.
We went here today as a celebration for my 51st birthday. 4 of the 6 of us were somewhat disappointed with our roasts. The meat was dry and a shortage of vegetables ( only one tray). We come here 3 to 4 times a year, and always enjoy the food, beer and ambience. It was a little bit of a disappointment, to say the least though. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. It won't deter us from coming back.......just not on a Sunday.
Friendly pub with log burner in the main bar area. Large dining areas and very good food. Proper Job for me and Sea bass with mash (catch of the day) was excellent. The chicken supreme was also top notch. The staff really are smiley and friendly. Would recommend for just a drink, an overnight stay or lunch) dinner. Worth leaving the main road to seek out this one!
We have been here many times, and over the years have noticed a slide in food quality. Each time we say we probably won't go back, however the location is convenient and the ambiance is good, so we end of sacrificing the food quality. This time the food was under cooked, and or not reheated correctly.
A lovely friendly atmosphere, serving great pub food at reasonable prices. We popped in as we were passing. They were catering for a large work Christmas party and told us food might take a while. Despite that, we were informed that our food would not be long, with updates along the way. When it arrived, it was of excellent quality. We will definitely be back!
