About us

Welcome to the star inn Penzance. You will find us ideally situated in the centre of Penzance. This lovely Inn has been serving ale and food to locals and travellers alike for well over 200 years. We underwent a complete refurbishment and reopened in November 2014. Deceptively large inside and spread over several levels with cleverly designed spaces allowing intimacy for groups of all sizes. Ideal for informal meetings with friends. Or a great venue for office parties and more formal business meetings.

Step into a warm welcome from Paul and his team. Try some of the real ales Paul has selected from our local Cornish micro brewers as well as your usual better known favourites.

Feeling hungry? Have a look at our delicious menu, or choose from our continually updated “specials boards” created by our inventive chefs from locally sourced produce. Why not book a table and make a special evening of it. To take all effort out of it, every Sunday we run a full carvery so the only choice you need to make is which succulent joint you’d like us to carve from.

I was banned by the barely 20 year old barman for commenting to the rest of the pool team that when we had played there they shut the bar at ten when we still had 5 games to play. So they had to stay open all that time without a drink and the whole team backed Me up that I was not at all rude. But that's why it doesn't make any money and never will plus the fact they won't do a simple good pint. You need to have a serious look at the place, unless it's just a money laundering excersise. Which if so will be looked into by My Police friends,Ty.

Visited for tea and had the specials a lovely hot pot, beef the melted in the mouth followed by a pavlova with fresh raspberries and strawberries. Friendly service with no pressure or rushing. Lovely evening thank you.

Been to this Pub a few times. Once with my late Parents for a few drinks, once for a send off for a good friend, once when I played a gig there and more recently when playing with the Golowan Band this year where the pub hosted us and laid food on for us. Each time I have been welcomed and treated well. The food that was put on for Mazey Day was amazing. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Great Pub!

4 adults and two well behaved dogs. We were all thirsty and wanted a pint so went in, we saw a few dogs inside so thought was ok. We used the toilet and were told no dogs and toilets are for customers. We would of been but you won't let our dogs in so stick it up your @rse. The globe is much better.

Very nice and comfortable place to stay and visit Cornwall as it's very close to the train station and to the bus station, also very clean, provides with soap, fresh towels, tea facilities in the room, modern and clean bathroom and it is quite silent, so one can rest with no problems.
