A wonderful place to stay..hosts Zoe and Gary ans staff Scott and Sharon were so friendly and helpful. They served a full English breakfast as well..great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you soooo much! Kind regards. Cleo.
Do you know what? I love the Jolly Sailor! The minute you walk in, you feel welcome, and that's a nice feeling! The place is the oldest pub in Looe (so I have been reliably informed by the landlord) and its got a lot of atmosphere from the low wooden beams to the small windows. That being said what makes the atmosphere really is the staff and locals which are both very friendly and welcoming! If you are visiting Looe, even though it's not on the main tourist trail, it's most definitely worth a visit!
A very lovely and quaint pub with lovely people! We stayed 2 nights: room was very clean and comfortable / breakfast was great! Lucky to have experienced the 'shanty night' on Thursday, very interesting! Thanks Gary, Zoe & staff for making our stay so memorable!
We visited here after seeing recommendations on Google and also after seeing it was the oldest pub in Looe and one of the oldest in UK. The place is steeped in history, folk lore and apparent ghosts, which my elder daughter found fascinating. The bar man, I unfortunately can’t remember his name, was very engaging and regaled her with stories and even CCTV footage of ghosts. The food was your typical bar food, but tasted great and was very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Looe.
This is a traditional pub very oldie worldly. It has lots of character. The locals where very friendly and enjoyed some banter. The guys behind the bar where also fun. We where late getting there as the food stopped serving at 3 pm but they where gracious and fed us and we all enjoyed. We will be back at it was lovely to be away from the main busy hub of Looe.
