About us

With the market town of Wadebridge three miles to the east, and a bevy of small moorland villages all within striking distance, The St Mabyn Inn & Restaurant is set in a stunning rural location in the heart of the village of St Mabyn.

This historic Inn has all you would expect from a village pub in North Cornwall; delicious food, a roaring fire, expertly-kept local ales and a welcome as warm as they come. Not only this, but the St Mabyn Inn prides itself on going that extra little bit further to delight its customers and keep them coming back for more… you can expect table service as standard (because our customers are valued guests), a delicious menu focusing on locally-grown / locally-reared produce (our head chef relishes working with the finest ingredients), and a hand-picked selection of both locally-made and old favourites behind the bar.

Our head chef works skilfully with the riches found in the farms and coastline locally, expressing each season creatively via her lip-smacking menus. That said, there is no ego in our kitchen and we focus on the elegance of simplicity – you can find old classics with a twist on our menus, and there’ll always be enough food on your plate to fuel your journey home. We’re a pub after all!.

We called in at lunchtime and was very disappointed. My wife had the squid, which was lukewarm, and a side salad consisting curly lettuce a couple of rings of onions and quite a bit of sliced carrot, no tomato or cucumber a bit strange. I had a steak sandwich with similar salad and about fifteen chips. It wasn't cheap, it could have been a lot better with a bit of thought .

Searched on Google maps for somewhere to visit for food before our long journey home, and wow, what a find - we will definitely be back when in Cornwall. Everything was spot on, especially the food. Best pub food had in a long time, throughly enjoyed. Great pub and atmosphere and staff attentive.

We visited St Mabyn for an evening meal and drink whilst on holiday in Cornwall. We shared a very tasty sour dough and mushroom starter. We both enjoyed a lovely burger and shared a basket of tasty chips which was plenty for two. Though tasty, I did feel the ice cream sundae was overpriced at £8. The staff were friendly and the service good bearing in mind the busyness. There was a whoopsie with our starter being given to another table by mistake, but the waiter explained, apologised for his error, and it was quickly rectified without a wait. We happened to be there on a Shanty singing night, which we got involved in and had a bit of a sing-a-long. Not for everyone but we enjoyed the craic! Would happily return and recommend.

I visited this place twice. The service was very good. The food was excellent, especially the thai fish curry. The portions were big. They have some nice vegetarian food although there could be more options. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place.

We arrived quite late (for Cornwall) but they still served food at 830pm Lovely staff and a very nice pub. We had a starter portion of mussels and a main portion of mussels and some bacon and jalapeños loaded fries. By far the best mussels I’ve ever had, the sauce was sublime and the mussels were plentiful. Highly recommend. A lovely old pub.
