It is a charming, friendly pub. The landlord was very helpful. We were staying at a large hotel nearby, but the atmosphere in the hotel bar was none existent, so we went to The Cornish Arms. We had a nice night and will pop on there again. They introduced us to a pub game, I won't spoil it, but it involves 6-inch nails🤣 Thank you, Cornish Arms.
My family and I drove past this little pub on our way to St Ives and saw they had a pub quiz on the following night so we booked in for a meal and the quiz! The customer service was great, we had a waiter named Mason serving our table and he was friendly and attentive! The food was exactly how we envisioned - good portions, great taste and was very much good pub grub. The quiz was done really well too. Barry does an awesome job at creating the quizzes every week and his wife Annie is such a character and made us feel right at home. We will be back if we make it back to this side of the world! Just got back from the best ever pub Sunday dinner that I’ve had, honestly. I wouldn’t normally recommend eating out for a Sunday dinner but considering that we are on holiday and decided to book for this evening I was glad we did. The food was great, the size of the meal was amazing and the staff were fantastic. I would totally recommend and I would believe that we will visit again before heading home. Dogs are welcome so we visited with 3 adults and our dog.
Well it's a shame having a lovely old pub but the atmosphere duff. Wasn't very busy but told to book for a meal, but we didn't bother as the guy who served us..not sure if he was owner/manager...was a bit of a misery!! But enjoyed our drink n went on our way.
We popped in for a drink last night and chatted to the locals who were really friendly & welcoming. Bar staff were lovely. We visited again tonight & had 4 x Sunday Roasts (2 beef & 2 Turkey) and puddings. All delicious & hot. Fab. We will certainly be back again before the end of our holiday here. P.s. Have just read the review before this where the guest said they had crayfish linguine. I don’t know where they dined as this wasn’t even on the menu!
