Was only dinning. Was there for a work meal with 12 of us eatting. We where able to have drinks prior to our meal in a separate bar. Once seated service was great and all meals arrived together allowing us to eat together. Which isn't always the case with big groups. I had the steak which was the only thing that fell short. The taste was amazing but found the cut quite chewy. That said all meals where finished and would definitely come back. Thanks to the team for their hard work.
What a lovely place! This was a booking made by our family as a gift to celebrate a birthday. A welcoming, colourful, and relaxing atmosphere greets you when you walk into the Relais. All staff, without exception, greeted myself and my wife with genuine smiles and a reminder of the willingness to help or serve. It wasn't some of the forced platitudes of a script written greeting. It was a professional and polite exchange. The decor was colourful and continued throughout the large building. Very well maintained, clean, well signed, and lit. The rooms were relaxing, well furnished, well lit, and a good supply of teas and coffees. A very comfy kingsize bed, luxurious bedding, and pillows. No minibar (which may be a good thing. A good selection of TV cha nels, music, sports etc if that's what you'd like. Clean and spacious en-suite shower room. The amply seated restaurant was well laid out, and table service was great - not rushed-just right. Menu selection was a good cross-section of meats, vegetarian, and vegan dishes. Numerous drinks, soft and alcoholic are available too. It was clear they had an excellent chef and kitchen staff as our choices were cooked fresh, presented beautifully, and portioned well. As was the room service full English breakfast supplied to our timing, piping hot and again presented very well. We don't have a bad word to say. Parking was free and on site. Access to the beach immediately alongside. Although in a very cold part of January, to chilly to wander for too long, a warmer time of year would be a very welcome attraction. I would certainly return. Thank you.
Went for lunch with my friend and husband for a catch up. As usual amazing place with a sea view. Diane, who served us wad very friendly, well spoken and helped us decide with the menu. The food, drinks and service was very high quality 👌
This is our hotel, and meeting place. Complained to the general manager at the chief Hotel in Henley. I Was told that a new Geeral manager had been appointed, things would get better. Oh. Wishful thinking, the service is terrible, the food when you get it doesn't live up to high price. The old hotel had its problems but the staff were efficient, the food was good, and the drinks were priced reasonably. When questioned about these aforementioned points. The same old story comes from the staff. You have to expect to pay more for the wonderful location, and the facilities on offer. As I stated at the start, my family and I have used this hotel for 50 years. Now we visit with reluctance, and would never recommend it. I only wish that the new manager had achieved what was promised.
Nice touch of luxury in a prime position. Was a great place to meet with old friends over a leisurely lunch. Yes, the prices are a bit rich but quality and presentation were good. Staff were super attentive, overall impression was that early negative reviews have been taken seriously. But they should look at pricing of basics to generate return customers.
