We have opened the doors to the new look Commodore. Featuring a fresh look to our bar and restaurant, and a whole host of new touches and features to make your visit even more enjoyable.
Overlooking the Isle of Purbeck, The Commodore hotel resides on the cliff tops, over some of Dorset’s best beaches, with most of the 12 bedrooms offering stunning sea views. Ideally located to the east of Bournemouth, the hotel is a great base from which to experience the natural beauty of the local area, from cycling in the New Forest to exploring Lulworth Cove.
Breakfast was really good, as was the dinner we had one evening. On the way our car broke down, so I called to say we would be late. Ross, the manager, was very kind and helpful and reassured us that he lives on site so could let us in after hours. Staff are all really lovely and attentive. We had excellent service from Alex at dinner.
Lovely gammon steak dinner. Really dog friendly. Even have a dog menu! Great pint of Guinness. Lovely location on the cliff tops. 10/10. Robyn was a great waitress. Very professional and knowledgeable 👍🏼
I’ve been here a few times and it usually very good. However on our last visit my partner and his friend has ordered fish and chips and when it had arrived at the table we were informed there was no salt or vinegar. This wasn’t ideal and would have preferred to been told at point of order or potentially going to a local shop to grab some salt and vinegar. Other than that mishap everything else was fine.
Had lunch here while watching the air show , the food was delicious and the young girl Lilly who served us was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed . Nothing was to much trouble for her , even brought dog treats for our dog 🐶 to the table . It was extremely busy and the bar staff were just as helpful. Ten out of ten on food and service. Will definitely be returning
We only came for a meal, but had a nice experience. Service was very friendly and attentive, with drinks coming out quickly. The portions are big, with tea pots big enough to fill 2 big cups. The lasagne was enough for 2 people as a light lunch as well. Nothing outstanding taste wise, but decent enough to enjoy in the cozy atmosphere.
