We booked for 7 people on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately they had problems with their gas supply. We were given the option to cancel but decided to still attend. They cooked us curry, lasagna and chicken burgers. Also macaroni cheese for the little one. The service was great. The staff were very kind and attentive. The food was good even though there was no gas. Thank you all at Cobblestones in March.
Overall a very good customer experience. Great food, good table service, nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very polite and courteous. Will definitely come back again. Well done everyone involved
Booked for a family meal of 9, 1 was a child of 7. When greeted at the door we were shown our table and told they will be over to take drink orders. Once drinks were ordered we all sat and looked at the menu and chose our meals. At no time was we made aware of the missing items on the menu until we started ordering meals and found 5 orders of the mixed grill were unavailable which then made the ordering take longer while they then had to choose something else. Some starters were ordered but we chose to have them come out with the mains. The surf and turf ordered was the chosen option of one of the mixed grills and it was the toughest piece of steak ever. The cauliflower bites were over cooked and tasteless The dessert of warm choc fudge cake was disgusting as the sauce on the plate was solid and the sponge cake hard . It was replaced with another but that was just as bad. While sitting at the table we could hear of other orders being placed and they too were being told sorry we haven’t that on the menu we’ve run out. It amazed me that at 3pm they had run out of so much yet they had the evening to get through. I’m not upset with the waitress service she was quite pleasant and polite but I was embarrassed that I’d booked a family meal only to have options denied and meals not up to a good standard. I had visited it a couple of weeks before having booked the breakfast with Santa and that was actually very good. Unfortunately I won’t be coming back or recommending it to others. In total we spent over £220 . Never again
the staff were clearly under pressure , & appeared harassed , they were polite & friendly still but obviously there wasn’t enough ! we saw several families / couples leave due to the wait time , which was a shame ! the food was really lovely & the staff were working hard in what was obviously a difficult situation . i think they lost a lot of custom due to the short staff issue . the girl who served us seemed stressed & very busy . the drinks were sat in the bar for a long time . it seemed bizarre to send vouchers / codes then not have enough staff to serve everyone who came . at least 4 lots of customers left that we saw due to the wait . such a shame , we got engaged here & it’s one of our favourite places . due to ill health we hadn’t visited in a while & it was sad to see it so quiet & the lack of staff clearly having a huge impact . the service was slow & not as good as previous visits sadly . this was in no way their fault . peak / busy time & 2 staff members for the whole restaurant is ridiculous was a great shame because the food was absolutely gorgeous & great value but the staff situation is dire & definitely make me re consider returning the girls who were working , were lovely & i felt sorry they were working so hard under such pressure , people were complaining at wait times & it’s not the staffs fault
Booking the table online was very easy. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and were seated straight away. Service was very quick. The choice of food in the menu was very good. The meal arrived in good time and was very hot and fresh. It was absolutely lovely. We will definitely be returning soon to try another meal on the menu.
