We also keep a wide selection of wines from around the world, alongside a selection of superb real ales recommended by Cask Marque. With it's double bar areas (one containing a huge 16th Century fireplace which is fantastic on cold dark nights) the Coach is perfect for drinkers and relaxed diners alike. As well as the bar areas there is also a large dining room which doubles up as a function room - ideal for parties of all sizes (up to 40 seated comfortably).
Great atmosphere, pleasant staff BUT I went home hungry. I'm not normally a big eater, I ordered the haddock which was nicely cooked but the portion are tiny. My son in law ordered the lamb and again his portion was pathetic as was the one spoonful of mash that was served.
First time I’ve had food here since 2016. Definitely much better food and service. The place has also been renovated and is now a very pleasant and comfortable place to eat. I would recommend coming here if you want good pub food.
Visited yesterday for lunch. Spotted this delightful venue on the way back from Saffron Walden. Lovely friendly people, food was excellent and so well presented. Be warned if you order nachos, it was the largest but the most delicious I've ever tasted!!
Food and presentation are outstanding, don't get me wrong, but ordering one starter and two salads took far too long to get to us. They might be short staffed. The ambiance is great, but the staff aren't as welcoming as most places in the area.
Really nice visit. The place is completely different inside to what you think it will be, it's a high quality fresh modern refurb. Immaculate and we'll spaced out. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Very grateful they managed to fit us in on a Sunday!! Food was excellent - Real high quality ingredients and presentation. The roast was on the 9/10 scale for me. The meat was sliced perfectly and was soft to eat, no tough or fatty bits. Absolutely no complaints on food. All in all great visit and definitely will be coming back here again. Highly recommended and advise to call and book so not to be disappointed.
